AGAINST CANCER

Our commitment to corporate and social responsibility extends far beyond the walls of Rideau. For this reason, each year, starting in 2008, Rideau is commited to raising funds for a cause. This year, we will be lending our support to the fight against cancer.

Why fight against cancer
Because the numbers here above are simply too high, because we are all concerned as cancer does not discriminate and because this cause is particularly personal for Peter Hart (CEO) and Stephen Hart (COO) as they lost their mother to the disease. Rideau honors the memory of Phyllis Hart and cancer victims everywhere by the official launch of the Rideau Fights Cancer on a Global Scale campaign.

What have we achieved so far?
Our goal for 2008
Although this year marks the official campaign launch, we have participated in numerous fundraisers in the past such as: Shave to save, Jail N Bail, Step up for the cure, etc.(see Gallery section for pictures of past events). Through these fundraising initiatives, Rideau has donated over $30,000 to cancer research programs. The goal of the Rideau fights cancer of a global scale campaign is to participate in three events and raise a minimum of $15000. The money raised will go towards cancer research charitable organizations.

How you can help?
There are various ways in which you can contribute to this campaign. The easiest way to help is through donations: you can incite your friends, partners, and clients to make a pledge. If you prefer a little more involvement you can participate in an event (certain rules apply, view event for details). You may also post your candidacy to be a member of the Rideau fights cancer committee and volunteer to help organize fundraisers and events.
